“Let's say I hope that I appeal to the more carefree times in a person's life rather than to his reasoning adulthood. I'd just like to be an image that reminds someone of joy rather than of the problems of the world.”- John Wayne

October 9- 10th: Saturday I spent the early morning with Duke because his baby shower was in the afternoon. Duke was fussy today, he moved his neck around and was whining. I think he started off this day rough because when I got there the sun was coming up and right into his eyes in his room. I have adjusted his shades to help block that direct light. It was odd to see Duke, who is usually sleeping or just looking around, to be irritated. The nurse said he was a little irritated in the afternoon to, but the nurse said this was just him showing he was ready for more than just sleeping.

Sunday Aunt Candi spent the morning with Duke and had some cozy time with him. Mom and I came to spend the afternoon with him. His neck is getting stronger and he enjoys looking around more. I reward him every time he moves his neck with forhead kisses, we both win. The nurse said the doctors were very pleased with his CO2 numbers and the doctors are going to discuss with me how they are going to wean him off the Vapo-therm oxygen machine.

**Thank you to everyone who came to the baby shower for Duke and gave him all those amazing and lovely gifts. **
