On September 16th at 5:19pm I gave birth to my son John Wayne Williams. This Blog is going to chronicle the early entrance of my son into the world and how he grows. As I have spent time recovering from the first days of child birth and getting my head around having a prematurely born child I have been looking at the words John Wayne said in his movies. Though not his own words, he verbalized phrases with such gusto I found having my son named after and called the Duke more appropriate daily.
"Courage is being scared to death -- and saddling up anyway." John Wayne
This was the first quote I found when I was looking up John Wayne, which was straight from the Duke. While in the hospital, learning about having to deliver earlier than planned, courage came in my head. I know this is a time of panic and one where you have every right to shut down and just say no to being around people, but when family and friends are involved they are just as scared as you are, and courage is necessary. When you find yourself in a hard time you need to find courage, smile, laugh and push forward. If you don't saddle up and move forward, courage is squandered.
